I am a self-taught artist and published poet, currently enjoying creating abstract works using acrylics, collage, and found objects. I grew up in Oregon and found my way to Florida via Washington state, Hawaii, and Jamaica, West Indies. Each of those places has provided a different perspective as I look to nature for much of my inspiration. Snippets of poetry and quotations are greatly inspiring to me, and I often begin a piece by writing those on the canvas as a starting point. My reverence for Mother Earth also means that many of my pieces contain found objects and recycled materials that may otherwise be destined for a landfill. I have witnessed the healing power of art in my own life, and I am deeply committed to advocating for the power of arts in healing and promoting social change.
